HTC Desire 616, which was announced only a couple of days earlier as an Asia-specific smartphone with no plans for a global roll-out, as per the company spokesperson. The mid-range smartphone is priced at Rs 16,900 and will be available next week.

The dual-sim smartphone comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense UI and BlinkFeed.
It features an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash that supports full-HD video recording and a 2MP front-facing camera. It has a 2000mAh battery.

In terms of connectivity features, HTC Desire 616 offers Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The phone comes in dark fray and pearl white colours.
Powered by an octa-core processor, the Desire 616 will be up against smartphones like the Micromax Canvas Knight A350, Karbonn Titanium Octane and the Gionee Elife E7 mini among others.
